KonMari Method – Makeup

Last night, I decluttered my makeup, following the KonMari Method.

This is the second video in my KonMari Method Round 2 series.  Tim and I decluttered and re-organized everything we own last year.  Now, I feel it is time for me to go through each category again to refine the choices I made last year, and assess purchases made since then.

Having recently tackled the Clothing category, I decided to move on to assessing my makeup as an extension of this category because I consider makeup an extension of my wardrobe (you wear it to complete an outfit after all).  Additionally, my makeup collection is stored in a train case, which I keep in my bedroom; as you may already know, we are currently redecorating our bedroom.  So, I felt it made sense to declutter all the items which have been temporarily removed from our bedroom until the redecoration has been completed.

I tried to film the actual process of me going through my makeup, as I determined whether or not each item sparked joy.  But I got so carried away with swatching everything (to make absolutely sure about the choices I was making) so instead I have put together a video showing you the items which spark joy, and how I have re-organized everything. I also show you the items which did not spark joy, and which I have decided to let go of.

In this chatty video, I talk you through every item and how I came to a decision for each one. So, if you love makeup, watch the video to find out what sparks joy for me, and maybe you will discover some products to try out for yourself!
